The Berthouzoz Women in Research Event is an annual networking event organized by WiGRAPH for researchers, faculty, and students. Floraine Berthouzoz started this event as an informal gathering. After her passing in 2015, Floraine’s mentees and colleagues built upon her efforts to create an event that aims to broaden the network of women researchers and provide a friendly and personal environment where graduate students can interact with senior researchers. We will be hosting a panel of women in graphics who will share with us some of their research experiences. The event is open to all researchers, regardless of gender.

The Rising Stars Workshops are designed as a two-part series which take place over two consecutive SIGGRAPH North America conferences. This event contains the detailed schedule and information for our Junior and Senior Cohorts' Workshop.

The Rising Stars in Computer Graphics program is designed to encourage people of underrepresented genders to become research leaders in computer graphics. This is a two-year program that will be co-located with SIGGRAPH 2024 and SIGGRAPH 2025. Ideal applicants will be within two years of going on the job market, a time when most students have sufficient research maturity but are still making decisions about future career directions. The Rising Stars Program is open to computer graphics PhD students and postdocs of underrepresented genders, including cisgender women, trans people of any gender, non-binary people, and all people with historically marginalized or underrepresented genders. Applicants should be expecting to obtain their PhD or complete their postdoc in 2026.
